The remodel and addition to a 1963 “Cape Cod” created refined Kitchen/Dining/Living spaces with the removal of the existing compartmentalized rooms. The Kitchen and main Entry occupy the vaulted shed addition, establishing a light-filled, energetic zone for a growing family. The addition adds a contemporary component to the exterior aesthetic that generates a juxtaposition of dynamic components.
The interior finishes craft an environment that creates instant family warmth and a certain messy vitality. Original oak floors are contrasted by custom steel shelves and fireplace finishes while the Kitchen employs different recycled door/drawer designs with concrete countertops to create a strong and warm dialogue.
